Teacher of A-Level Economics and IGCSE Business Studies

The position

St. Lawrence College, Athens, Greece is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of A-Level Economics and IGCSE Business Studies to join our British school in Athens, Greece. 

Brief Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of A-Level Economics and IGCSE Business Studies to pupils in Key Stages 5 and 4. He or she will work closely with the current Head of Department and colleagues in all areas of the planning and delivery of A-Level Economics and IGCSE Business Studies, including strengthening the schemes of work, creating and sourcing teaching aids, developing and implementing assessment tasks, and promoting broader interest and enjoyment of these subjects.

St. Lawrence College places great importance on the excellence of the delivery of pastoral care and on the provision of extracurricular activities for all pupils. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to these vital spheres of British education fully and with enthusiasm. 

Brief Person Specification

In addition to appropriate teaching qualifications and experience teaching A-Level Economics in a British school either in the UK or overseas, the successful applicant will possess outstanding subject knowledge, excellent communication skills and the stamina to realise the continual improvement of the teaching of this highly popular subject. 

The successful applicant will be available to work starting 1st September 2024.

Remuneration

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary by standards of British education in Greece plus Christmas, Easter and summer bonuses as well as other benefits. The successful applicant will work in an outstanding modern educational environment within a 20-acre school campus set in the stunning natural surroundings of the suburbs in southern Athens.
