Teacher of Greek

The position

St. Lawrence College, Athens, Greece is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Teacher of Greek to join our Greek department, teaching Modern Greek in both the junior and senior school sections of St. Lawrence College.

Brief Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of Greek to pupils throughout the school and to pupils of all abilities in Greek. He or she will work closely with the Head of Department and other colleagues in the department in all areas of the planning and delivery of Greek, including strengthening the scheme of work, creating and sourcing teaching aids, developing and implementing assessment tasks, promoting e-safety and engaging all pupils in the attainment of skills related to this subject.

St. Lawrence College places great importance on the excellence of the delivery of pastoral care and on the provision of extracurricular activities for all pupils. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to these vital spheres of British education fully and with enthusiasm.

Brief person specification

In addition to appropriate teaching qualifications and, preferably, experience teaching Greek, the successful applicant will possess outstanding subject knowledge, excellent communication skills and the stamina to realise the continual improvement of the teaching of both this key subject. The successful applicant will possess excellent oral and written English skills.

Teacher of English as an Additional Language to Key Stages 3 and 4

The position

St. Lawrence College, Athens, Greece is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of English as an Additional Language as part of the EAL department in the school.

Brief Job description

The successful applicant will be responsible for the teaching of English as an Additional Language to pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. He or she will work closely with the current Head of Department in all areas of the planning and delivery of English as an Additional Language, including strengthening the schemes of work, creating and sourcing teaching aids, developing and implementing assessment tasks, and supporting pupils as they move from their EAL programme into the full British educational programme that the majority of pupils are following at St. Lawrence College.
