Summer School 2025
Every summer, for one month St. Lawrence College runs a highly successful, fun-filled summer programme suited to children aged from three to fourteen. Yet again this year, SLC is the place to be as we are busy preparing an action-packed and enjoyable course of activities for your children from Monday 23rd June to Friday 18th July.
Summer at St. Lawrence gives children the opportunity to meet and interact with other young people from all over the world. They do so as they enjoy a wide range of lessons, activities, events and trips in the warmth of the Athens summer sunshine. Our environment is spacious, safe and well-equipped. It provides a sense of belonging while enabling children to learn and enjoy all that is on offer.
Our children under the age of 7 will follow an English-based programme full of activities, language and sports, while children over 7 have the option of three specific programmes: English Language, Sports or Creative Art & Drama.
We offer exceptional tuition in English language, sport, dance, chess, recycled art, 3D paper architecture art, robotics, yoga, field games/survivor field/parkour, mini golf, roller skating, crafts, drama, music fun and many more activities.
At St. Lawrence College, we actively encourage our pupils to develop independence, confidence and leadership skills. We focus on forming friendships, inspiring creativity, building life skills and having fun.
Do join us for an unforgettable summer adventure.
Registration is now open and we look forward to seeing your child/children on Monday 23rd June at 9:00 a.m. for the start of an exciting summer.

Summer Book Exhibition
For a week at the end of May, St Lawrence College junior school hosted a book exhibition with Kidzbooks so that children would have a chance to choose some super summer holiday reads. The wide array of books in all genres and writing styles inspired the children to make some great choices. They enthusiastically rushed to the library every playtime to buy their chosen titles – reading in the summer sun is ALWAYS fun!
Summertime Adventures!
Our annual Year 6 Milias Camps residential trips were hugely enjoyable experiences for our Year 6 leavers this June. The teachers and children set off to the foot of Mount Parnassos for a three-day adventure in the fresh mountain air. They settled into comfy cabins and were taken on excursions including exhilarating river trekking and hiking. The children particularly loved pool time and many learned archery and practised new climbing skills under the watchful eye of experienced coaches Georgie and Carolina. They cycled around the locality with Ion and Manolis and those less confident on two wheels were even given cycling lessons – core memories of camp!
Our Summer Recital
On Monday 27th May at the Efilena Estate, St Lawrence Music School hosted a wonderful evening of music played by our pupils in both the Junior and Senior schools. Children exhibited their learning and achievements on the piano, the violin and the guitar. Beautiful singing was also a part of the evening that captured the audience's attention so delightfully.
Guests thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful pieces that were played by our talented and diligent pupils, many of whom practise for several hours every day to reach the standards where they can perform concert worthy pieces including Presto by Giovanni Pescetti, The Mystery Sonatas by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, Vivaldi's Violin Concerto, Ludwig Mozart's Menuetto and Tchaikovsky's June from the Four Seasons.
Congratulations to each and every performer!
Summer Term begins
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
The St. Lawrence College 40 year journey
We are proud to unfold our adventurous, creative and magical journey which brought us to this impressive Koropi Campus where we celebrate our 40 years of operation
NORTHERN JOURNEY: The School did not pop up in 1980, the year of our foundation, looking as we do today. We started in Paleo Psychico, Filothei, Halandri,
occupying five different buildings that were necessary to house our constantly increasing pupil body, as our growth rate was phenomenal. To accommodate a number of non Athens resident pupils, we also ran a boarding house at Hotel Frini in Kifissia.
September 1984 finds the School in Gargitos in a purpose–built school building. We have left Paleo Psychiko and Halandri, but we still keep Filothei.
SOUTHERN JOURNEY: In September 1981, the School opened a branch in Hellinikon, naming it “L1” i.e. Lawrence One. The success was instant and in the years that followed new buildings were added, one after the other, in the area to accommodate the pupil body -three of which were built by us. Again the need to accommodate a number of boarders was covered by running a small villa in the area as a boarding house.
As time went on, the Board of Governors realized the need to bring together the North and the South and
so the three component schools, Filothei, Gargitos, Hellinikon, merged in Hellinikon in September 1987.
A new beginning was made in Hellinikon. An impressive success story both in numbers and particularly in academic achievements follows bringing the buildings to the staggering number of eleven, “L11” i.e. Lawrence Eleven.
In the summer of 2004 the time had come to move again.
So “Farewell Hellinikon”, “Good Morning Koropi” and the gate of our impressive Koropi Campus opens in September 2004.
To sum up this building/geographical journey, we have worked out of 17 buildings, two boarding houses, in six suburbs before reaching our present beautiful home – the Koropi Campus.
Summer SCHOOL: The St. Lawrence College Summer School has been taking place as follows:
-Alexander Beach Hotel, Arachovitika, Peloponnese,
Summer 1982
- Tolo Camping, Nafplio, Peloponnese, Summer 1983-1989
- Hellinikon Campus, Summer 1994-2004
- Koropi Campus, Summer 2005 – Present
Our School has come such a long way and it is in the hands of people, teachers and administrative staff, who will continue to nurture it as the safe educational oasis that it is.
Senior School Photography Competition 2022
This year’s competition was themed ‘Summer’ and many entries were received, being submitted by pupils from across all year groups. The teachers of the Art department judged the contest, and while it was a close call, all judges agreed on the winners from the Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 categories.
Photographs were judged on technical skill, artistry, and the overall effectiveness in conveying the theme. In Key Stage 3, the winner was Alexandros Roberts Taoufik with an impressive photograph of a summer storm; in Key Stage 4, Martina Cugat Gregoriadis’ photo of a sleeping cat with the sea was judged the best, and in Key Stage 5 Monica Colombo’s image of octopuses on a Greek harbourside captured the essence of a Greek summer.
All photographs that were submitted are soon to be displayed in school, providing a welcome reminder of summer as the autumn draws on.

SCHOOL RE-OPENS Monday 8th SEPTEMBER 2025
Please note that in the course of a year unexpected circumstances may arise and cause the Greek authorities to issue directives which all schools must be in compliance with. For that reason all dates on this calendar are subject to potential change. Parents will always be informed of any adjustment to the calendar.
If either General or Local Elections are held during the academic year, this will necessitate the closure of the schools on the Friday before and the Monday after election day.
New sports facilities at St. Lawrence College
A major sports development has been accomplished at St. Lawrence College through a complete renewal and redesign of the large football field which features at the heart of the school’s sports facilities.
The time had come for a relaying of the football field and the opportunity was taken to establish additional features for the school’s sports provision. Through the summer, work was carried out to remove older broken spectator seating and completely remove, level, and relay a new football pitch surface. Now a high-quality 9-a-side football pitch has been laid, and with perfect timing, for post-pandemic interschool tournaments and matches are due to recommence. Likewise, within school, inter-house tournaments and PE lessons will make full use of the new facility.
Furthermore, surrounding the new football pitch, a running track has been developed. The running track, a feature we have not enjoyed at school until now, will lead the development of track events among the school’s athletics programme. It is already in use, and will be enhanced further, in due course, with a ‘cinders’ surface and the painting of running lanes. Further developments over the summer include a permanent long jump pit and the refurbishment of the spectators’ seating area.
Planning for an official celebratory opening of the new sports facilities is under way and announcements will be made soon. The whole area has been welcomed by sports staff and pupils alike, and with lunchtime try-outs for boys and girls football teams well under way, our pupils are already making the most of this new school feature.
