At the end of May, members of the Volunteer Team for Forest Protection and Fire Fighting of Vari visited our Junior School over several days with their fire engines.
Pupils heard important information on fire prevention and fire safety in the home, and what actions must be taken in case of a fire. This included not playing with matches and lighters, not playing in the kitchen when someone is cooking, keeping wires away from underneath carpets, turning off lights, and not leaving fireplaces lit when asleep. Pupils were taught how to evacuate their home safely and tell an adult to call 112.
Pupils also had the opportunity to practise their new skills and use the fire hoses on the team's fire engines with their sirens ringing out.
Thank you very much to the Vari team for another valuable and memorable visit to St Lawrence.
