2nd place and joy at U14 football tournament

Senior School

On Thursday, 12th March, our school was represented by two under-14 girls’ teams and one boys’ team in the annual football tournament hosted by St. Catherine’s.

The boys won both of their group stage games comfortably and advanced to the semi-final, which they also won convincingly with a 4:1 scoreline. In the final, our school faced the host school, St. Catherine’s. The final was a fantastic match in which our team fell behind early, 1:0, but quickly bounced back to take the lead at 1:2. Unfortunately, the host school scored two more goals late in the game, and our team ultimately finished in 2nd place after a nail-biting final.

Both of our girls’ teams did not manage to advance to the semi-finals from the group stage. However, they enjoyed a fun game against each other as their final match of the day. The game brought plenty of joy, laughter, and healthy competition, which is what these tournaments are all about.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the tournament, and thank you to our coaches, Mr Strzemiecki and Mr Styliatis, for their hard work with the school teams.
