St. Lawrence College hosted the “Galinos Karakostas” Chess Festival on April 21st at the Efilena estate. This inter-school chess tournament saw children from St Lawrence College, Geitonas School, and Kessaris School play together. Many young chess enthusiasts enjoyed a morning of friendly competition and strategic thinking.
Children from Year 1 through to Senior School represented our school, highlighting the wide appeal of chess across different age groups. Our pupils demonstrated focus, sportsmanship, and impressive problem-solving skills as they faced opponents from the other participating schools.
The tournament provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to challenge themselves, meet fellow chess players, and build confidence in a supportive and respectful environment. We are very proud of all our Chess Club members for their enthusiasm and commitment, and we look forward to taking part in similar events in the future.
